Disparate Connections

Way back in time and sometimes now

My library

This is my ‘library’. Not large, but within it lies enough analysis of the past and recent past to answer just about any question facing humanity. If a collection of thoughts so small can answer so much, why do we still ask questions? The ideas behind these colourful spines have inspired me over the last 40 years. I have tried a few times to arrange them into subjects or disciplines but there are so many overlapping connections between them I gave up.

This is me holding the only medal I ever got. It was given to me by TAFE NSW (Technical and Further Education, New South Wales) for 20+ years teaching Humanities subjects.

When I picked it up and out of curiosity wondered what the very tiny Latin script meant – Orta recens quam pura nites – I was both surprised and delighted. Translated it means ‘Newly risen how brightly you shine’.

  1. As the subject discussed here, is one of my centers of interest, I am much pleased by reading further about it. Thank you.

Thanks Pierre, which article did you read?
